Until now there were laws based on religions and regions and judicial decisions were made based on them. For example Christian Marriage Act, Hindu Marriage Act. If this is implemented, there may be discrimination against certain regions and religions. Notably, it is more likely to legislate on the basis of the Hindu religion, thus potentially discriminating against those of other religions.
